God is Omnipresent.

As we continue studying the characteristics of God, I want to look at the omnipresence of God.  All it means is that God is everywhere, all at the same time.

Jeremiah 23:24

24 "Can a man hide himself in hiding places

So I do not see him?" declares the LORD.

"Do I not fill the heavens and the earth?" declares the LORD.

Technically, God is not limited by time or space.  He has always existed, and He has always been everywhere!  He is both in heaven and on earth at the same time.

Deuteronomy 4:39

39 "Know therefore today, and take it to your heart, that the LORD, He is God in heaven above and on the earth below; there is no other.

It is both exciting and sobering to realize that God is everywhere.  There is nowhere that you can hide from Him, even though sometimes you might feel like it!  You cannot escape the presence of God:

Psalms 139:7

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?

Or where can I flee from Your presence?

The obvious answer is nowhere!  While sometimes we might wish that God was not with us when we failed, it is also comforting to know that He will never leave you.

Hebrews 13:5b

5 … for He Himself has said, "I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,"

There is no place that you can escape from the very presence of God.  No matter how badly you fail, or how much you wish He would ignore you, He will always be right there by your side to pick you back up.

Psalms 139:8-10

8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;

If I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.

9 If I take the wings of the dawn,

If I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,

10 Even there Your hand will lead me,

And Your right hand will lay hold of me.
