Sometimes we need to just take a few minutes and reflect on what Jesus actually did for us on the cross.  It’s easy to get caught up in all different principles and studies, but it really comes back to this principle.  Jesus Christ paid the price for ALL SINS on the cross.

1 John 2:2

2 and He Himself is the propitiation (or satisfaction) for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

The genius of this plan of God is that it completely removes sin as an issue, both for salvation and for living the Christian way of life!  This is a principle that we especially need to remember in witnessing – the issue is not that the unbeliever will go to the lake of fire for his sins; the issue is that the grace of God has taken care of his sins.

Who did Jesus pay the price for?  Just believers?

1 Timothy 2:6

6 who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time.

Hebrews 2:9

9 But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.

Titus 2:11

11 For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men,

2 Corinthians 5:14

14 For the love of Christ controls us, having concluded this, that one died for all,

2 Corinthians 5:19

19 namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Here’s the issue.  Christ, on the Cross, paid the price for all sins.  That’s the sins of all, everyone, all men, all, the world.  He will never count their sins against them!  So the issue in salvation is never sin, but accepting the work of Christ on the cross.  It’s available to everyone, because everyone’s sins are paid for:

1 Timothy 4:10

10 For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.

As you are faced with an opportunity to explain the gospel to someone, don’t fall into that trap of telling someone that they have to answer for their sins, because they don’t!  The issue in salvation is never about sin, but about the solution that God in His grace has provided in the Cross of Jesus Christ.

It’s a gift available to everyone.

2 Corinthians 9:15

15 Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
