Do you believe the Bible is the absolute, true, divinely inspired word of God? The Bible says that it is:

2 Timothy 3:16

16 All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness;

Do you believe that what the Word of God promises, God will absolutely do? Do you think God wants you to prosper?

3 John 2

2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

God does want believers to prosper! If you believe the promises about salvation, how can you not believe the promises about prosperity? God promises prosperity to you, but there are certain conditions. (We’ll get to these!)

The principle of prosperity is much misunderstood today. There are two extremes among Christians today:

1. People follow God just to get the prosperity.

James 4:3

3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.

2. Some say that prosperity is totally wrong for Christians; that poverty is the only Godly way.

Both of these are contrary to the Word of God. There is certainly a wrong way to look at prosperity (like the rest of the world does). But following God’s way will lead to financial, physical, mental, AND emotional prosperity!

Who do you think everything belongs to?

Haggai 2:8

8 "The silver is Mine and the gold is Mine,' declares the LORD of hosts.

Psalms 24:1

1 The earth is the LORD'S, and all it contains,

The world, and those who dwell in it.

Psalms 50:10

10 "For every beast of the forest is Mine,

The cattle on a thousand hills.

Everything belongs to Him! Do you think He created all this for unbelievers, or for losers who ignore Him? Of course not! He created it for people who love Him.

Matthew 7:7-11

7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

9 "Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone?

10 "Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?

11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

God is not out to play games with us related to prosperity. He wants us to have it! Which glorifies God more: poor, unhappy Christians, or happy prosperous Christians?

Romans 8:32

32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things?

Psalms 84:11

11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield;

The LORD gives grace and glory;

No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

God’s way to prosperity begins with a change of thinking in your soul. It’s all about having faith in Him, and in His ability to deliver on His promises.

3 John 2

2 Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers.

It starts in the SOUL!
